I had no rose petals, so I added oxalis/clover flowers. They have a refreshing, tart, almost lemon flavor and were a bright counterpoint to the soft rose, nut, and pear melange of the cake. My family and I enjoyed this one of a kind cake experience, including the pistachio shelling contest!
