  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Blend together until thick and creamy, pour into suitable freezer container and freeze for at least two hours, the longer the better.
  • Allow to soften in the fridge for 20 minutes before serving. It's rich and perfect sitting in a compact scoop on a waffle cone!

    • This is no no-churn ice cream, alas. It's not just that it freezes rock solid - even no-churn ice cream does that if the freezer is cold enough - but that the ice crystals it forms are large, so creaminess is minimal. I also realised, too late, that I should have added a little lemon juice to the mixture so that it didn't turn grey. My search for the perfect no-churn banana ice cream continues...

    • I have been making this simple recipe ever since 'CCC' first posted it. It is as easy as it looks but it tastes better than you can imagine. It's great to have another option for 'those over-ripe bananas' we all have stashed in our freezer waiting for the next baked good.
