Green Tomato Chutney

Cut the Tomatoes, Apples and Onions into small slices and add the golden raisins. Put the Crystallized Ginger through a mincer. Put the Vinegar, half a pound Sugar and Salt in a preserving pan and add all the ingredients mentioned. Boil Gently for 4hrs and then add the rest of the Sugar, and boil for another 2hrs.. If the mixture looks too thick add a little more Vinegar... Cool and then add to jars and store for a week for best results

I must send you my Granny's recipe, I love this, it gives me great memories growing up when I was about 5 staying at her house and making this together and it's lovely with cheese, salads etc... Hope you give it a try and enjoy

- 3 pounds onions
- 4 pounds apples
- 1 pound golden raisins
- ½ pound candied stem ginger
- ⅚ pint spiced vinegar
- 1½ pounds turbinado sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt

You will need a really big pan to cook all this in, but then you can use less amounts of ingredients its up to you, & I know this takes along time to make but trust me it's worth it
