Blood Clots

Introduction

It's childish, but I think I am inordinately proud of this formulation (I can't call it a recipe): it's simple, therefore totally unstressful for parents, and children absolutely adore it.

Yes, I know you're giving them pure sugar, but is this really the night to worry about it?

For US cup measures, use the toggle at the top of the ingredients list.

Ingredients

Makes: about 10 blood-clots

Metric Cups
  • 1 packet strawberry jelly
  • 1 packet raspberry jelly
  • 1 packet blackcurrant jelly
  • 1 packet strawberry jell-o
  • 1 packet raspberry jell-o
  • 1 packet blackcurrant jell-o

Method

  1. Make up the jellies according to the packet instructions, and leave to set in separate dishes approximately 26 x 20 cm / 10 x 8 inches, in the fridge. I just have a lot of these and like this the jelly takes less long to set, but any similar dish would do of course.
  2. When the jellies have set, turn or mulch with your fingers and put them, squodged together on to plates or bowls in clumps like blood clots.

Additional Information

MAKE AHEAD / STORE:
The jellies can be made up to 2 days in advance. Cover and store in the fridge until needed. Squidge just before serving.
