Our answer

Nigella's Blackberry Crisp (from NIGELLA EXPRESS) is similar to a crumble but the museli-type topping contains oats, almonds and sunflower seeds. The filling should ideally be fairly quick-cooking fruit, such as berries, but as Nigella mentions in the introduction to the recipe, you can pretty much use any fruit that you have to hand.

Frozen berries are ideal and a good freezer standby for this dish. Either frozen blueberries or blackberries could be used, or even strawberries or mixed berries/fruits of the forest. Cook the fruits direct from frozen as they will thaw easily in the oven and it is easier to toss them with the cornflour (cornstarch) and sugar while they are still frozen. The frozen berries may need a couple of minutes of extra cooking time and the fruits should be bubbling at the edges and also piping hot in the centre when ready.
