Full question
Hi there! Is there a non-egg version of the Tiramisini recipe?
Our answer
Nigella's Tiramisini (from NIGELLISSIMA) are individual tiramisu. They are easy to make and suitable for when you only want a small number of portions. The recipe uses only whisked egg whites rather than whole eggs.
We are not sure if the eggs need to be omitted as they are uncooked or due to an allergy. If the issue is that the eggs are not cooked then you can replace the fresh egg whites with store-bought egg whites from a carton. These can be found in the chiller cabinet in many supermarkets and are pasteurised, so are safe to eat without cooking. If it is an egg allergy then you can instead whip 60ml (¼ cup) double (heavy or whipping) cream and fold this into the mascarpone, marsala and honey mixture. If you use this option then be careful not to overmix as the mascarpone can thicken very easily if mixed too much.
