In Nigella's Lemony Salmon with Cherry Tomato Couscous is it possible to warm the couscous after the cold tomato mixture and onion mixture have been added? When I made it the couscous was not very appetising at the temperature I ended up with.
Our answer
Nigella's Lemony Salmon With Cherry Tomato Couscous (from KITCHEN) serves pan-fried salmon with a dressed couscous. The couscous is supposed to be served at room temperature. We would hesitate to heat it once assembled, as this could affect the texture of the tomatoes and the herbs.
We would suggest that you make sure that the tomatoes are at room temperature, as if they are refrigerated then this will bring the temperature of the couscous down. Tomatoes don't necessarily need to be refrigerated if uncut, so if you have refrigerated them then try to take the tomatoes out of the fridge 3-4 hours before you want to use them. If you want to warm the couscous slightly, we would suggest fluffing it up with a fork, then warming it slightly in a microwave, before adding the room temperature tomatoes and the other ingredients.
