Full question
I wanted to know if we can bake the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pots in aluminium foil ramekins? And also can we store the made cookie pots in the freezer or only dough can be frozen up to 3 months? Thanks!
Our answer
Nigella's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pots is an indulgent, gooey dessert with the flavours of a chocolate chip cookie. The dessert can be baked in small, individual pots or one large dish. Nigella uses porcelain ramekins and any similar ovenproof pots would be fine. If you are using aluminium foil ramekins then bear in mind that these heat up very quickly as they have thin sides, so the cooking time may be shorter. We would suggest checking the pots after 10 minutes - the pots should have formed a crust on top but be gooey underneath.
The pots are at their best when freshly baked and warm, as they become more solid as they cool and will lose their oozy interior. We would prefer to freeze the pots unbaked and bake them from frozen (allow a couple of extra minutes of cooking time). Leftover baked pots could be frozen and then thawed overnight in the fridge and are probably best eaten cold as they will be similar to a large chocolate chip cookie.
