Freezing Chocolate Chip Cookies

Full question
Can the Chocolate Chip Cookies be frozen once baked and cooled? I like to have a stash in the freezer for unexpected guests.
Our answer
Nigella's Chocolate Chip Cookies (from KITCHEN) can be frozen once they have been baked and cooled. Stack the cookies in freezer boxes, with a piece of baking parchment (parchment paper) in between each layer of cookies. The cookies are best if eaten within 3 months. They should defrost in around an hour, but this will depend slightly on the temperature of the room.
If you want a stash for unexpected guests then you may prefer to freeze the cookie dough unbaked and then bake the cookies from frozen, which is actually quicker than waiting for them to defrost and lets you serve warm, freshly-baked cookies to your guests. Scoop the cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with baking parchment and freeze until solid, then transfer the frozen unbaked cookies to resealable bags. The cookies should be baked at the same temperature and you will need to add about 2 minutes extra to the baking time.
