Hi, I am trying to come with some good, tacky Passover dessert ideas, for something that goes beyond brownish dishes meant to resemble bricks and mortar. Justyna

There are several flour-free and leavening-free desserts in Nigella's repetoire, which would be good for Passover. Some are flourless chocolate cakes which are obviously brown in colour, but very delicious. Another alternative is Nigella's Apple And Almond Cake For Passover (from Feast). This cake is made from ground almonds (almond meal), apple puree and eggs and although it is best served warm, it is possible to serve it cold.
Macaroons are another idea and Nigella has a recipe for Chewy Macaroons in Feast. We would also suggest trying Nigella's Venetian Carrot Cake from Kitchen and if you don't want to use rum in this recipe then you could use extra orange juice instead.
