Peanut Butter Chips for Ice Cream Cake

Asked by Zaza21. Answered on 13th August 2014

Full question

Hi, in the TV clip where Nigella is making the Ice Cream Cake, she says she buys her peanut butter morsels online. Could you give me the website please? I've made this with chocolate chips...delicious!! but since I'm a huge peanut butter geek, I'd love to try it. Many thanks

Our answer

Nigella's Ice Cream Cake (from Nigella Express and on the Nigella website) has honey roasted peanuts, Crunchie bar and peanut butter morsels mixed in to the vanilla ice cream. If you live in the UK then the peanut butter morsels can be more tricky to find - though chocolate chips are a good substitute. There are two brands that can be found in the UK - Nestle Toll House and Reece's. The Stateside Candy Co. (Americansweets.co.uk) usually have the Nestle version available on their website. You can also try Amazon for both brands.

In the US the Crunchie bars can be hard to find and you may need to look in a local candy store for honeycomb or sponge candy. Crunchie bars can be found on some of the British food suppiers sites in the US (such as British Delights and Brit Food Shop) and they can be found on Amazon, though in fairly large boxes.
