Reusable Liners for Cake Pans

Asked by Jviles. Answered on 16th May 2013

Full question

I want to make both of the fruit cakes from Nigella Christmas. On the TV show, Nigella used what looked like a reusable silicone liner to line the sides of the pan. Can you tell me what brand this is and where I might find it? I live in the US, and I have only been successful finding the liners for the bottom of pans. I have looked into Bake-O-Glide, but have not been able to find anywhere that will ship it to the US. Any help would be much appreciated!

Our answer

Nigella often uses the Bake-O-Glide silicone non-stick sheets as they can be cut to fit pans, can be used over and over again and are easy to clean. However if you can't find the reusable liners then you can line the cake pans for Christmas cakes with a double layer of parchment paper (baking parchment) and this is actually specified as the pan lining in the recipes for most of Nigella's rich fruit Christmas cakes.

We understand that Aga (the oven maker) sells Bake-O-Glide in the US and it looks from their catalog like they sell larger sheets that can be cut to size. The link to their catalog is below. Lakeland is a large kitchenware retailer in the UK and do advertise shipping to the rest of the world. They also sell Bake-O-Glide in rolls (described now as "icing sheets"), so it may be worth contacting them to see if they can ship to you.
