Full question

My mixture for the Chocolate Chip Cookies seemed very runny, should it be thicker and more like a dough?

Our answer

Nigella's Chocolate Chip Cookies (from KITCHEN) has a dough that is soft but not runny. You should be able to scoop out portions of the dough and the dough will hold its shape. The mixture is made with melted butter and if this is not cool enough and if the eggs are not cold then it may become a little soft.

If the dough is soft then just refrigerate it until it firms up enough to scoop out mounds of the dough. Once the mounds are on the baking sheet you may like to chill the dough again thoroughly before you bake the cookies. If the dough is too warm when it goes into the oven then the cookies will spread as they bake.
