Full question
If I wanted to make the Spaghetti With Tuna, Lemon And Rocket as a salad, would I make it the same way or cook and cool the pasta and then add everything else? And maybe add a little of the oil from the canned tuna? Thank you.
Our answer
Nigella's Spaghetti With Tuna, Lemon And Rocket (from NIGELLISSIMA) is a pasta dish with a no-cook sauce. We suspect that it could be served cold as a salad, or even leftovers could be refrigerated and eaten as a salad the next day.
If making the dish specifically as a salad, we would suggest cooking the pasta then draining it and tossing it with some extra virgin olive oil to prevent it from sticking, then cool and refrigerate until ready to serve the salad. Mix together the other ingredients, except for the rocket, in a large bowl, then add the chilled spaghetti and toss together, adding a little extra olive oil and lemon juice if the pasta is still a little sticky. Gently work in the rocket leaves and taste and adjust the seasoning before transferring to plates. You could use the oil from the can of tuna for the dressing, but only if the tuna has been canned in good quality olive oil. We would suggest tasting the oil before using it.
