Our answer

The Nigellan Flatbread (from HOW TO BE A DOMESTIC GODDESS) recipe is for pita-style breads that are sprinkled with nigella seeds (also known as kalonji or black onion seeds). They are at their best when served fresh from the oven but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Leftovers can also be frozen in an airtight container or tightly sealed plastic bag for up to 3 months (wrap each bread individually in clingfilm if you want to use only one at a time). Please note that as the flatbreads cool they will deflate somewhat and become less puffy.

We would suggest serving leftovers warm and if you have frozen the flatbreads then let them thaw at room temperature for 1-2 hours before reheating. You can warm the flatbreads in a microwave for 20-30 seconds. Alternatively, wrap the flatbreads loosely with foil and put in an oven preheated to 180c/160c Fan/350F for 10-12 minutes until warm. Whilst it is possible to reheat pita breads in a toaster we prefer not to recommend this method for the Nigellan Flatbreads as the nigella seeds and egg glaze are likely to scorch in a toaster.
