Full question
I love the flavor of Nigella's sticky and sweet ribs, the ones with with the Thai sweet chili sauce. But I'm wondering what other meats I can use this with? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Our answer
NIgella's Spare Rib recipe (from NIGELLA SUMER) has a sweet, sour and spicy glaze that is made from a combination of sweet chilli sauce, honey, soy sauce, mustard, ketchup and crushed red pepper (chilli) flakes. The glaze is poured over partially cooked spare ribs before starting the final part of the cooking process.
The glaze could be used on chicken thighs, drumsticks or wings as these will cook through in about 30 minutes. If using thighs then we would suggest using thighs on the bone. If the thighs are large then you may need to roast them for an initial 10 minutes before adding the glaze, as the glaze may start to scorch if it is cooked for too long. You may also like to try Nigella's Maple Chicken 'N' Ribs as an alternative. You could add a pinch or two of red pepper flakes to the maple marinade to add some extra heat, if you like.
