Full question
I have Nigella Express and successfully followed the recipe, and froze and then baked unthawed the dough, as suggested. It's a real game changer, thank you!! However, I cannot remember how long they were baked for from frozen. I’ve scanned the recipe many times and cannot find the cooking time. Also looked at the online recipe. Any advice, please. Thank you!!
Our answer
Nigella's Totally Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies (from NIGELLA EXPRESS) are intensely chocolatey thanks to a combination of cocoa powder, melted chocolate and chocolate chips. The cookies can be baked and frozen or the shaped cookie dough can be frozen and baked from frozen, for freshly-baked cookies at very short notice.
If you would like to freeze the cookie dough then form the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment (parchment paper) and freeze until solid, then transfer the frozen dough to freezer bags or resealable boxes and freeze for up to 3 months. To bake, heat the oven as directed in the recipe and put the frozen cookie dough on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment, then bake for 1-2 minutes longer than stated in the recipe (so total time should be around 19-20 minutes). Test as described in the recipe and bake for an extra minute or two, if needed. Make sure that the oven is properly preheated before putting the cookies in to bake, as if it is too cool the outside of the cookies will melt before they start to bake properly, giving misshapen cookies.
