Full question
The lovely white chocolate mousse recipe looks super. I am going to make this for a dinner party and would like to add some alcohol to make it really decadent. What liqueur or spirit would you recommend and at what stage should it be delicately added? Thank you!
Our answer
Nigella's White Chocolate And Passionfruit Mousse (from NIGELLA SUMMER) is an easy and elegant dessert that contrasts sharp passionfruit and raspberries with sweet and creamy white chocolate.
We suspect that it would be possible to add some alcohol and an orange-based clear liqueur such as Cointreau or triple sec would match well with the fruits and chocolate. We would suggest adding about 2 tablespoons and adding it to the yolk and chocolate mixture at the same time that the passionfruit pulp is added. Make sure that the liqueur and passionfruit are at room temperature so that they can blend easily with the chocolate mixture. But please note that as we have not tried the mousse with added liqueur, we are unable to guarantee the results.
