I transferred the mixture to my Crockpot rather than cooking it in the oven. 9 hours on low and the beef was fall apart tender. I used an Austrian (as I live in Austria) dark beer - Gösser Stiftsbräu. Subbed the allspice for Lebkuchen spice. Served it with Brussels sprouts mashed potato and carrots, and accompanied it with more Austrian beer - Gösser Stiftsbräu for him, and Gösser Zwickbier for me. This was absolutely delicious the first night, and Nigella's right it gets better the longer you leave it - it was even better (I didn't think that was possible as we enjoyed it so much the first night) the second night.
