Happy Christmas from Kakuma Refugee Camp in North-West Kenya near the border with South Sudan! I have made this Buche de Noel every year since 2008, when I received Nigella Christmas as a gift. The top pic is this year's yule log, made at the camp in Kenya, and on the bottom is the more polished one from last year at home in my proper kitchen in Toronto, Canada. Have also made this cake in Cuba and Rwanda - it's part of what makes my Christmas when work travels take me away from my family :) Cheers!
