I didn't want to divert too far from Nigellas recipe, so I made just two simple little additions. One being ground almonds in the crust and some added lemon to the filling. My berries and cherries were extremely ripe and sweet, and I wanted a little tartness in the filling to create a little more contrast. It's a beautiful tart and something I will most definitely make again as it has the ability to be quite diverse with seasonal fruit and fillings, plus to make something with such ease is always going to win me over. Unfortunately I didn't quite have enough time to leave to set. However it fared well in a reasonably long, hot journey in my car so I would say it was something that could be successfully transported to events and parties without becoming a casualty. A beautiful low fuss, high payoff dessert.
