I struggled a bit making this cake and the cream, because I was making it in our summer/weekend cabin in the woods, using some very old electric hand mixer with only one whisk and our lo-cost oven. But I made it! And it was also my birthday cake this year. The cake is very rich and dense and the cream is very sour. Together they make a nice combination, although some of us decided to skip the cream. I had to substitute tequila with more Cointreau, as I didn't have and couldn't get any at the time.
