A dark and stormy day in autumn. What else would you do than baking some cake or cookies? And just when everything was done a lovely evening sun came out, so I could enjoy a hot cocoa with some of those freshly baked beauties on my porch. I really was thrilled about how they turned out as it was my first time ever making or using Royal Icing! The cookies themselves look a bit grayish, because I substituted the flour for whole-grain flour and the sugar for cane sugar. Which both worked quite nicely, providing the cookies with just a trace of a nutty caramel flavor.
