As a teacher my job wouldn't be as fun without the perks of my students. To celebrate the upcoming high school holiday I made a batch of Nigella's custard cream cookies for my mentor class last week. As a theme I came up with the chalkboard style. I adapted the recipe by adding fresh vanilla and lemon zest to the dough and also some lemon juice to the custard cream.
