This beautiful cake is adorned with dried rose petals rather than fresh, as here in Canada our flowers are only just starting to bud! The cake tastes delightful - the pear and rosewater flavours come through subtly and even though it is a simple one bowl cake, it really is a showstopper. I made this cake to take a photo for the contest, but ended up with a delicious dessert that the whole family loved.
