A deliciously moist cake which also doubled as a dessert. Beautiful to look at and to eat, the rosewater gives it an usual twist. We loved the cake and ate some on the day it was baked then when my mother in law visited the next day we served it warm with some strawberries on the side and lots of double cream. Unfortunately roses are not in bloom in Scotland at the moment so I used camellia petals which looked just as pretty. This was the first time I'd baked the cake but I suspect it will become a favourite. I stuck to the recipe this time but think it is a great gluten free bake which could be tweaked to add variety.
