I am an Irish American woman who has been living in Florence, Italy with my Italian husband for just over 10 years. Every year we throw a St. Patrick’s Day party and the belle of the ball is always Nigella’s Chocolate Guinness Cake!! This year was 36 enthusiastic guests, mostly Italians, who arrived and asked, “Ma hai fatto la torta, vero?” translation “But you made the cake right?” I love the ritual of setting up my kitchen to bake this cake with Far and Away or The Departed playing while I get in the St. Patty’s mood! Thank you Nigella the recipe to this annual and highly anticipated tradition!!
