Here in Ottawa, Canada, these are usually called Buche de Noel. We have bought them in the past (and saved the decorations!) but this is the first Christmas to make our own. The recipe instructions were very clear and it was a lot of family fun. One daughter made the cake and icing, the other did the decorating.
