Old fashioned means simplicity, elegance and sobriety to me. When I think about an old cake recipe, it reminds me of several images from my childhood. My mum was intent to prepare my birthday cakes, with whipped cream and cherries on the top. That's why I prepared this delicious Nigella's Old Fashioned Cake decorating with dots of whipped cream, maraschino cherries and chocolate paillettes. And that's why I love baking cakes, It is like being a a little girl again !
