Baked in memory of my Dad (Birdie as he was called by his grandchildren), on his birthday. This cake seemed fitting. It was lovely to make and I took on Nigella's advice to embrace the imperfections as part of the cake stuck to the tin on the way out. The moussey deliciousness was enjoyed with a cup of tea as we celebrated with family over skype. My Dad would have delighted in this cake.
