Made by my son William aged 13 (& 3/4) and renamed 'Corona cake'... The cake was made over 2 sessions: the base was made the day before - William discovered the joys of upsiding the bowl of whipped egg whites and sugar over my head to test for readiness - and the topping was made the following morning before being liberally decorated with an assortment of all the chocolate he could find in the cupboard; chocolate orange crescents; super-sized chocolate buttons; and mini-eggs. Finished a day before Easter and served alfresco in the late afternoon sunshine. Polished off by us all. Fab!
