I couldn't get my head round what the texture of this cake would be like from reading the recipe. To my mind it was going be a stodgey, meringuey pavlovary type of affair. What it turned out to be was the most amazing fudgey, chocolatey, verging on a brownie slathered in chocolate cream type of cake. My husband and I were in chocolate lockdown heaven over the Easter weekend.
