I struggled to get hold of cream of tartar and learnt that it is made out of the crystals that you find at the bottom of some wine bottles. In the end I found some and didnt have to seive any wine. We had cream tea outside this afternoon. With the scones and tea I served really good strawberry jam and whipping cream, whipped further than I would normally go but it worked so well with these scones – even though the cream looked like it had cellulite too!
