Charcoal, Black Cheddar and Paprika Scones topped with Cream Cheese, Chargrilled Peppers and Chorizo sprinkled with Parsley. My second time making scones and I knew I wanted to try savoury! The idea of adding charcoal came to me and I decided to start from there. They were so quick to make. The charcoal adds a deep earthiness alongside the mellow creaminess of the Black Cheddar with a hint of heat from the paprika. The topping elevates this, adding in some freshness from the cream cheese, tang from the roasted peppers and fiery heat and crisp from the chorizo to make it a very special afternoon tea dish.
