I loved making and eating this pav! I added raspberries too as the local farm where I bought my strawberries had some beauties for sale. I also substituted black pepper for pink, as I'm (unusually) not a black pepper fan, even in savoury food. I smashed up the pink peppercorns and added a little to both the meringue and the topping. I think their floral taste went really nicely with the rose so I was very pleased. This was the first time my boyfriend had tasted meringue that wasn't shop-bought, and he was blown away by the marshmallowy texture after expecting pure crunch! I'm already getting requests to make another...
