I could not give up all my traditional PAV ways, so I incorporated a dash of vanilla extract which I think enhanced the aroma of the rose and flavor of the pepper - all beautifully subtle. I also baked it at 270F for 70min and left it in the oven with the door slightly ajar for another hour+ to cool more slowly and facilitate those amazing irregular cracks. I also added some fresh blueberries from my in-laws garden and left the passion fruit pulp still seeded to add to the crunch of the aromatic meringue. Per my normal, the asymmetry and cracks works perfectly to allow for trickles of the pulp to flow into the spongey-soft center as well as out.
