With thoughts of future ham sandwiches in mind, I decided to take advantage of the 'swiss roll' construction of the final loaf, and filled the bread with orange cheddar. To enhance the savoury nature of this bread I also worked a few teaspoons of dried thyme into the dough. The resulting loaf was an incredibly fluffy cheese scroll, scrumptious and delightful.
