The recipe was a pleasure to cook. I used fresh blackberries along with the compote atop the cake to take maximum advantage of my Southern Hemisphere seasonal abundance. The whole cake was devoured at my family picnic by the beach in the small holiday town of Emu Point, Western Australia. Thank you for your wonderful recipes.
