Add another entry to my list of cakes to make again. I have made a number of different cakes from Nigella's cookbooks and this site with every single one coming out perfectly. Besides being delicious, they don't fall, they are moist, and always slice easily. This one was no exception. The plain cake looked beautiful when I took it out of the oven. The cake had a lovely crumb and the flavor was enhanced by the toppings. While I might try different fruit compotes in the future, I may not tamper with a perfect recipe. My photo is simple because I didn't want anything to detract from the beauty of the cake itself.
