As soon as I've seen rose water I knew I had to try this recipe. My grandma had a rosa damascena in her garden that would explode with flowers by the time kid's holidays would start and we would pick the whole thick sateen flowers when they were ripe and released easily from the stem. We'd fill big glass jars, add water from the well and leave covered in the sun for a week, two or how long it needed to release the scent to make a wonderful summer drink. Because of these memories I always have some rose water in the pantry. For coloring I used dragon fruit powder, either in the dough or in the glaze.
