This recipe made me search for my box of old photos. Almost twenty years ago three girls from Slovenia went on a road trip in Ireland. We were having the time of our lives meeting amazing people, visiting pubs, listening to music and drinking Guinness with blackcurrant syrup. We were told that it was a girly version of a pint and we loved it. Dear Nigella, thank you so much for bringing back those carefree days with this cake. I took the photo on my sons hundred years old instrument called “cimbale” because the wood reminds me of Irish pubs and the strings are from the Guinness can.
