I decided to use the cake mixture to make small Easter egg nest cakes, the sides didn't splinter but the middle did sink enough to fill. The mixture made 12 cupcake size cakes and 10 muffin size cakes. I used chocolate buttercream as I knew they wouldn't be eaten all at once so I wanted them to keep for a few days.
