I love this cake! I usually make it in the summer with plums, but I must say that this is a very good seasonal alternative! I love that I get to make a focaccia base ( although sweet), which is typical of Liguria, where I come from in Italy, with the crumble on top, which is quintessentially British ( where I live now). Add the fact that it is a German cake, and you have a very international dessert!
