I took the risk of making this Austrian classic, Linzer Cookies, for a particularly picky crowd—my Austrian boyfriend and his Austrian friends. Fortunately, I succeeded and they were thrilled with this recipe. Not only did I use the red currant jelly my beloved Grandmother made for me with fruit from her garden, but the occasion for which I made them was my boyfriend’s birthday. So this truly was a labour of love in many ways. Thank you, Nigella!
