Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder although when this sumptuous cake appears a captivated gaze follows - every time. When I need to transport or easily serve, I make cupcakes instead of a cake. The original recipe makes enough delightfully domed cupcakes to greedily devour and to graciously share - just make half of the icing.
