All the way from South Africa on a rainy morning I tried my hand at making these. First I thought I would not have sufficient time to proof but to my amazement the recipe was easy to follow and the buns came out perfect. I added some candied orange peel, a extra dash of spice and for the glaze a splash of triple sec. A cup of Rooibos tea and a spicy hot cross bun makes a perfect combination to heat you up on a cool rainy day like this.
