Baked this Victoria Sponge cake for my daughter, Pia’s 13th birthday party on 5th May. The twists I made included using custard powder (in another Nigella’s recipe) instead of cornflour and added vanilla paste, filled with dragon fruit jam and luscious Swiss meringue. Finally luxuriously topped with more fresh swiss meringue drops, then again topped with pre made meringue drops, marshmallow and bubble gums. Best cake ever! All the girls loved it. Yum!
