Initially, we wanted to collect some flowers from the lemon tree to adorn our cake but once we saw how sparse the blossoms were on the tree, we could not bear the thought of robbing the tree of the forthcoming fruit. We decided instead to take the cake to the tree, crowned with a colourful blend of various types of citrus. The cake was absolutely delicious, especially with a dollop of double cream and comforting cup of hot tea. First time around it was also very easy to make. We will be baking this again and again.
