I had half a jar of morello cherries left over so sprinkled some of the juice on the sponge then scattered the chopped cherries over the icing before rolling up the log just to give it a bit of a black forest vibe. It went down very well at Christmas tea today. Thanks for the recipe, I've been meaning to try it since I bought "Feast" I don't know how many years ago. I love the descriptions in your recipes, and they always come out as promised.
