A very good recipe. I followed the traditional 'beat butter and sugar together first' method, not the all in one instructions. I didn't have any 8" tins so I used 7" which enabled me to make this into a layer cake with fresh strawberries, fresh cream and strawberry jam in separate layers. It was eaten 'same day' in its entireity by several of my friends who were most appreciative and full of compliments.
